Abstract

A rectangular gnomon hole is preserved in the front surface of the dial, along the meridian 20 mm from the top edge. Its dimensions are 27 mm long x 10 mm wide x 22 mm deep. [...] A wide lip emphasizes the circumference of the front section. The relief depicts a youthful figure playing a harp in a garden with various animals. Found in the ruins of ancient Dorostorum. The dial face is a flattened quarter sphere. Mladenova attributes the art work to the end of the second or the beginning of the third century A.D.
