Abstract

A round hole (190.5 mm in diameter) bordered by a groove pierces the top of the dial. Some lead remains in one of four depressions in the groove. [...] Paris reports existence of eleven hour lines and three day curves on the spherical shadow-receiving surface. Two well-formed lion feet decorate the base of the dial and two rosettes decorate the top corners. A relief margin emphasizes the front circular opening. Found at Baelo, Cadiz [...] in the kitchen of the "House of the Sundial".
