    "obj_descr": "δ̣ι̣ὰ̣ περιφερειῶν τῶν ἐφε[ξ]ῆς / τῶν διατεινουσῶν ἀπ' ἀνατολῶν ἐπὶ δύσεις / ἀπὸ τῆς ἑτέρας ἐπὶ τὴν ἑτέραν / μεθίσταται τὸ ἄκρον τῆς σκιᾶς / 5 ἐν  ἡμέραις τριάκοντα. ἀπὸ χειμερινῶν δὲ τροπῶν / ἐπὶ θερινὰς τροπὰς μεθιστάμενον / τὸ ἄκρον τῆς σκιᾶς δι' / οὗ ἂν φέρηται / τῶν πρὸ μεσημβρίας Ζῳδίων / 10 ἐν τούτῳ τῷ Ζωδίῳ / σημαίνει τὸν ἥλιον εἶναι. / ἐπὶ τῶν ἰῶτα φερόμενον / σημαίνει ζεφύρου πνοήν. / ἀπὸ θερινῶν δὲ τροπῶν / 15 [ἐπ]ὶ χειμερινὰς τροπὰς μεθιστάμενον / τὸ ἄκρον τῆς σκιᾶς δι' οὗ ἂν φέρηται / τῶν ἐκ μεσημβρίας Ζῳδίων / ἐν τούτῳ τῷ Ζωδίῳ / σημαίνει τὸν ἥλιον εἶναι. / 20 ἐπὶ τῶν ἰῶτα φερόμενον / σημαίνει Πλειάδος δύσιν. / ἑκάστης δὲ ἡμέρας / τὸ ἄκρον τῆς σκιᾶς [   Durch die hintereinander folgenden Kreise, die von Osten zum Westen durchlaufen, wendet sich die Schattenspitze vom einen zum andern Kreis in 30 Tagen. Durch welches von den Tierkreiszeichen vor der Mittag(slinie) die Schattenspitze auf ihrem Weg von der Wintersonnenwende zur Sommersonnen-wende sich bewegt, in jenem Tierkreiszeichen, zeigt sie an, steht die Sonne. Wenn sie auf der gestrichelten Linie sich bewegt, zeigt sie das Wehen des Zephyrs an. Durch welches Tierkreiszeichen nach der Mittag(slinie) die Schattenspitze von der Sommerwende zur Winter-wende sich bewegt, in dem Tierkreiszeichen, zeigt sie (wieder) steht die Sonne. Wenn sie sich (wieder) auf der gestrichelten Linie befindet, zeigt sie den Unter-gang der Plejaden an. An jedem Tag zeigt die Spitze des Schattens (…) .\" Es sind alleine diese Fragmente der Inschrift erhalten, auf die Crowfoot im Hof des graeco-römischen Museums in Alexandria stieß. \"Si tratta di una delle più grandi meridiane coniche conservate nel Mediterraneo.\" \"Le dimensioni del pezzo (tutti i simboli analoghi a quello della figura 3) sono: H=71 cm, Wr= ca. 88 cm (ricostruito), Dr=48 cm( ricostruito). Angolo  =59.60°? si adatta alla colatitudine di Alessandria con una precisione di un quarto di grado.Tre linee diurne sono visibili sulla parte conservata della superficie che riceve l’ombra. Il piede dell’orologio cade giù dritto senza alcun profilo decorativo.\" (Kosciuk 1992)",
