"obj_descr": "La meridiana oggetto di questo studio è stata ottenuta utilizzando un blocco di marmo bianco di tipo saccaroide a grana fi nissima e senza alcuna venatura, con caratteristiche simili a quello apuano. Sulla superfi cie concava si conservano le tracce della martellatura, tecnica con la quale la stessa è stata ottenuta, consistenti in coppelle di diametro compreso tra 1 e 1,5 mm. La superfi cie del manufatto è completamente alterata per azione chimica subita durante la permanenza nel terreno ed ha assunto una colorazione grigiastra molto chiara. Il reperto mostra diverse abrasioni provocate in tempi recenti dai mezzi meccanici durante le arature del terreno. Queste scalfi tture permettono di constatare lapurezza ed il colore originale della materia prima. Sebbene la meridiana sia piuttosto danneggiata lungo i bordi, su quello superiore si è conservato parte dell’alloggio dello gnomone.",

"df_descr": "L’oggetto conserva poco più della metà della superfi cie concava sulla quale sono state incise le linee orarie. Delle undici linee orarie che dovevano dividere la meridiana in dodici parti (le ore temporarie in uso nel mondo greco e romano descritte nell’introduzione) se ne vedono solo cinque, tra cui quella del mezzodì. Sono ben visibili le linee dei solstizi e degli equinozi, che attraversano le linee orarie: come di consueto in questo tipo di manufatti la curva del solstizio d’estate coincide con il bordo lavorato dell’oggetto. L’alloggio delle linee orarie è stato realizzato in modo sferico. Nella parte inferiore si nota il taglio della pietra che, in questo tipo di manufatti costruiti ad arte, corrisponde alla latitudine del luogo. Dallo studio del reperto (Fig. 4) appare una inclinazione che collocherebbe la meridiana ad una latitudine di circa 37°, non compatibile con il luogo del rinvenimento o, in generale, con la fascia del centro Italia, ma con l’area del Sud Italia o della Grecia.",
