Dialface ID 47

Abstract

The knowledge about this sundial is only based on a sketch from L. Janin. The sundial he drew has a protruding broad lip following the curve of the dialface, some kind of (torus?) moulding/cornice at the transition between frontUP and LP and similar design elements at the foot of the high base. It can be dated to before the 3rd century AD because of its reuse in the Vienna Gate in Gratianopolis, the modern Grenoble.

Measurements

This object has not been measured by the 3D pipeline. Its entry in the catalogue rests on the published description only; no surface fit, latitude or line detection exists for it.
