"obj_descr": "Severino: Ad Apricena, in provincia di Foggia, è stata rinvenuta da diversi anni, nella Masseria Amorusi nella Murgetta di Apricena, una splendida meridiana del tipo conico non compresa in Gibbs. Essa è attualmente conservata nei locali del Municipio ed è oggetto di studio della locale associazione archeologica guidata da Gaetano Lo Zito che ringrazio per la gentile collaborazione e concessione delle foto digitali da egli stesso eseguite per questo lavoro. Risulta che la meridiana è stata oggetto di studio da parte di alcuni studiosi tedeschi di cui pero' non è dato sapere altro, probabilmente per l'elevato interesse storico ed epigrafico dell'iscrizione presente sulla base del monumento e non ancora decifrata. Sono presenti 11 linee orarie e nessuna curva solstiziale ed equinoziale. E' rotta sugli spigoli esterni e non presenta tracce di foro gnomonico (il che è alquanto strano). Sotto l'iscrizione, sembra di scorgere due lettere DD che starebbero ad indicare forse l'anno di costruzione, il 200 d.C. Scheidt: Eine ebenso nahezu vollständige sphärische Uhr aus Apricena (RUSSI 1976, Abb.4) verfügt zwar auf ihrer Basis über eine nicht häufig anzutreffende (römische) Inschrift, welche die Uhr als Stiftung bzw. Schenkung eines 'Euelpistus Aug(usti)' ausweist, jedoch über keinerlei Datumskurven. Trotzdem ist eine Bewertung ihrer astronomischen Qualität nicht unmöglich.",
