Abstract

Eight hour line and day curve grids are engraved on five differently shaped surfaces. Two winged cherubs flank the cylinder at the top front of the dial. A crescent moon and three stars decorate the lower left corner in front; an eagle decorates the lower right corner. On the right side, the legs of a cherub running toward the back of the dial decorate the top; a piece of drapery in relief blows from back to front in the bottom section. An engraved line following the circumference of the circular section of the surface at the lower left front is the only decoration on the left side. A stepped molding outlines the various shadow-receiving surfaces and decorated areas.
