"obj_descr": "Gibbs: The engraved lines on this dial face include five hour lines, the winter solstice, the equinox, and the summer solstice. The dial appears to have been made to face southeast. Severino: Scheda del museo : N° 2 lastre di marmo bianco, centinate ad un quarto di cerchio da un lato con la parte in piano incisa con 5 segni messi nel senso dell’angolo a raggiungere l’altro segno fatto in modo da seguire la curva spezzata nella parte centrale e partente da un lato a raggiungere l’altro, tali incisioni sono 3, nello spessore delle lastre e cioè nell parte centinata ove vanno a convergere le linee vi sono dei segni fatti per misura m. 0,72 x 0.55 x 0.028. Spezzata in 13 frammenti. Provenienza Nemi (Valle Giardino). Entrata al museo in marzo-febbraio 1925. Ammissione Aprile 1931. Prezzo £. 50. Vecchia collocazione, Olearie, settore 19 A 2° ripiano. La descrizione è fatta ovviamente da una persona completamente estranea alla gnomonica ed all’astronomia in genere. E’ importante notare che la scheda cataloga in un unico numero di inventario, il 112134, due lastre di marmo che si crede appartenenti ad un unico reperto. In realtà le due lastre di marmo rappresentano due meridiane verticali declinanti complementari, ben distinte. Una occidua, l’altra ortiva. Alla seconda lastra che rappresenta la meridian occidua e che doveva essere posizionata a 90 gradi circa (ad angolo retto) con la presente, le daremo convenzionalmente e provvisoriamente il numero di inventario 112134 bis, per distinguerla dal primo reperto. Continuando con le annotazione, rileviamo che questa meridiana è stata pubblicata anche da Gibbs al numero del suo catalogo 5016 per la quale ripete quanto diceva già l’Antonini al numero 10 che era stata vista in Casa De Angelis a Tivoli. Fatto sta che al Museo ci è arrivata proveniente da Nemi.",
