Dialface ID 260

Abstract

A hole for a gnomon is preserved in the top of the dial directly above the meridian line; some residue of lead remains. A smooth curved edge on the right side follows the curve of the summer solstice. Five fairly deeply incised hour lines do not continue beyond either solstice curve. The right edge is finished in a double concave molding. There is no trace of color, relief decoration, or inscription. [Add. Gibbs's illustration is slightly distorted and differs from real object.]
