Abstract

The head of a bearded man with a hat can be seen in the middle of the frontLP. A theory suggests that this is Berosus, the supposed inventor of the sundial. Gibbs: According to reports the bust was found near the excavated dial and appeared to belong where it is now placed. Found at Palestrina before 1787.
