Abstract

A small round hole in the top surface of the dial probably held part of the gnomon. [...] Seven deeply engraved hour lines (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7) are preserved in the badly damaged shadow-receiving surface. Parts of the parallel solstices and equinox remain. Two lion feet support the dial on the left and right sides of the base. The foot motif is carried around to similar reliefs on the left and right sides of the dial which also include a design which incorporates stalks springing from calyxes.
