Abstract

Only the left half of this sundial remains. The left side is decorated with a broad frame on the outside and some smaller, tiered mouldings on its inside. A sloping shape at the usual position of a leg might hint to an ‘animal leg in side view’-decoration. However, a broken off, round shape on the front plane, also at the usual position of a leg, does not seem to have been part of an animal leg or foot. Gibbs seems to have been able to look at an intact sundial, as she writes about two legs and the relief on both sides. Gibbs: A relief margin borders both sides. A disk in relief is also visible in the side view. Two stylized legs flank the base in front.
