Abstract

This white marble sundial’s limbus is set off by a wide lip following the shape of the dial face. In the corners of the upper part of the front, two triangular shapes with another triangle inside of them can be distinguished. These triangles transition into two sturdy, double concave legs flanking the rest of the base. Gibbs: A complete bronze gnomon remains in lead fill at the top of the dial. An 18.7 mm wide relief lip borders the front circular section. […] Paris reports seeing construction-related markings on the side and top. I found only a trace of the meridian engraved on the oblique front.
