Task Manager (Node.js + Express + React)

A full-stack task manager web application with the ability to add tasks, delete tasks, and mark tasks as completed.

Project Structure

  • client/ React + Vite frontend
  • server/ Express REST API
  • .github/copilot-instructions.md workspace Copilot custom instructions
  • .github/agents/Reviewer.agent.md custom code review agent

Scripts

Run from the project root:

  • npm run dev starts backend and frontend in development mode
  • npm run build builds the frontend for production
  • npm run start starts backend and previews frontend build

You can also run per package:

  • npm run dev --prefix server
  • npm run dev --prefix client

API Endpoints

  • GET /api/tasks list all tasks
  • POST /api/tasks create task ({ "text": "..." })
  • PATCH /api/tasks/:id/toggle toggle completed
  • DELETE /api/tasks/:id delete task

Default backend port: 4000. Default frontend dev port: 5173.
